While studying at Yale University in 2002, Thomas deepened her engagement with the medium and later served as a printmaking teaching assistant for two years. Prints created during this period became source material for her early collages and paintings. The process continues to inform her practice today, with printmaking functioning as both an independent medium and a generative force across her broader body of work.
Beyond her studio practice, Thomas is also a curator, mentor, educator, and Tony-nominated co-producer. Her achievements (including major museum recognition, a Yale scholarship endowed in her name, and honors from TIME100 and the Grand Palais) reflect her lasting impact on contemporary visual culture and her commitment to equity, representation, and access in the arts.
